Dog bite

Was that a month ago that some guy was bitten by a dog somewhere between his ring and pinky fingers. The dog was a little dog. Yeah, it was a little dog with an attitude. I think we all know how little dogs are. They thought they’re big so they thought they could just bully anybody. Some insecurity little dogs have. Anyway, this made the guy endure five injections from a public hospital at 1.5K (in pesos, not km.) each.
I was bitten by a dog when I was just a kid. I don’t know how many times but there was only one dog bite that I took seriously because it bled. The dog was a puppy mongrel. It was my puppy and it’s my fault why he bit me. He bit me just below my knee. Because I was just a kid and kids usually kept their misdemeanors with themselves, I did not tell anyone that I was bitten and besides smart kids don’t need adult intervention. (Insert “ngiting-aso” here.)
The smart kid always knew what to do. So I let the wound bleed, wash it with water and apply garlic. (Boy Scout po ako.) By the way, to surely kill all the “germs” I placed the crushed garlic on the wound and tied a handkerchief around it. After some few minutes I could feel the burning sensation on my skin. I thought the remedy was taking its effect already. After the pain, I felt nothing.
That same night I removed the dressing from the dog bite, and guess what? I saw a blotch where the garlic was. The “germs” dead and so was my skin. The garlic burned my skin. Whoah! The garlic was indeed effective. The rabies was gone, that I am sure. The following morning I am taking care of a second degree burn. Isn’t it toothpaste an effective remedy for burns? Just kidding. (Insert smart-ass grin here.)
Some friendly reminders:
1. Not only small dogs bite, the big ones do bite also. They could even tear you apart.
2. Get informed about rabies. Don’t rely on garlic please, or on poison-seeping horns.
3. Don’t go to private hospitals. They will charge you way way up high that your head will spin not from rabies but from where you’ll get the money to pay for the vaccine.
4. Don’t even think twice whether to get a vaccine or not. Its better to be poor in life than wealthy in death.
5. While on treatment, please follow what the doctor says. Don’t drink alcohol means don’t drink alcohol even once.
6. Lastly, RABIES KILLS. They just don’t leave humans crazy.
P.S. That some guy is having his last injection this week. He stays in Mandaluyong even before he was bitten. ;)

Never told anyone that I was bitten by a dog twice when I was a kid.
That's why I've never been fond of dogs. I've always had this fear that they can and will strike anyone, even its owner, anytime.
And yep, even those little cute ones.

@mugen, 2 bites? what did you do to treat the wound? did it occur to u that u might get rabies from it? my officemate discovered her kid was bitten from a playmate and she brought him to the hospital.
parents must earn the trust of their kids so they will always tell them what's been going on with their lives.
@makmak. even though i was bitten by dogs several times i still don't fear them. they say u mustn't because dogs could sense it. that makes them even more aggressive to you.
luckily, i survived the bites. but i'm more careful now. hehehe
never pa akong nakagat ng aso... i love dogs that is why in a way, natutunan ko na silang ipsyche... basta huwag ka lang tatakbo at huwag mo silang lalapitan kapag kumakain at aapakan ang buntot nila.
but just last month, may &^%$$$##*!!! pet owner ang pinakwalan ang pitbull nila sa subdivision ng friend ko. at first akala ko kaya ko lang daanan. but when i saw his forelegs leaning, hind legs about to split ang tail erect... i know i am into deep shit. 5 times niya akong inattack buti na lang may dala akong grocery kaya nahahampas at natatakot ko siya.
ngayon, takot na ako sa mga stray dogs.. huhuhu
@wanderer. nakakatakot iyung mga pitbull lalo na iyung show type dahil ang lalaki talaga. laki pa ng bunganga. basta ako pag may aso sa kalye nakikiramdam na ako at naghahanda makipaglaban. hahaha
ive never been bitten by a dog pero takot ako sa aso hehe kasi when i was little we used to have a very big dog, si bogart. Lagi siya tahol ng tahol, very aggresive kasi nakatali lang sya cuz he's supposed to be a bantay.

hmmmm parang kilala ko ung tinutukoy mo hehehehe... anyways... as the story goes this little !$@!% dog who bit him was a jealous japanese spitz. jealous over this terrier who's very malambing a total charmer over his pet human... while the terrier was having fun with his pet human, accidentally bumps over this jap spitz and without hesitation the jap spitz bit the terrier but the unfortunate pet human was bitten as well... talking about hitting two birds in one bite ... este stone... and that was the story behind this dog bitting blah blah.
June 12, 2008 was he's last injection. as i was told, being injected via intra-muscular vaccine with a 10cc syringe is quite addictive. its like a cigarette for a smoker or a coffee for a caffeine addict hehehe... a feeling he cannot describe on every injections. its kinda weird dont you think.
as of to date. he still loves dogs . he owns 3 labrador, 1 terrier, 1 super jealous japanese spitz and 2 mongrel and planning to buy a boston terrier pup... :P
p.s. this 'some guy' accepts dogs for adoptions... so unwanted dogs you have a home with this guy :P
